Growth Serums and Lash Extensions

February 5th, 2010 by admin | Tags: , , | Posted in BellaLuxe Monthly Blogs |

I am getting lots of inquiries regarding the latest eyelash fad, growth serums. Products like Latisse www.latisse.com and a bevy of over-the-counter serums promise to help your lashes grow to a more fantastic state. With before and after pictures and celebrity endorsements, we are promised to see longer and darker lashes. So we are left to wonder… Does my love for lash extensions have to end?

 Growth Serums and Lash Extensions

The answer is no. Lash serums do complement your lash extensions, but by no means do they replace extensions. Lash serums that we have tried and I have recommended to my clients have shown to really help the end result of the lash extension application. “If we have more lashes to apply a synthetic lash to, the client will get a much better effect.”

With so many products that we lash extensionistas have to be weary of because of oils and other chemicals causing the bonds to weaken, I was anxious to see first hand if using these serums would have an increase in lash disasters with my clients. Surprisingly, they did not.

I opted to test several over the counter products since the side effects of prescription strength Latisse made me a bit hesitant. So I tried Lilash, used it as directed and even with my committed consistency I didn’t see any results. After waiting 3 months I used Marini Lash by Jan Marini. It has been 2 months since I started my latest addition to my beauty regimen and I am seeing great results. My lashes are thicker and healthier which lets me justify adding more length to my extensions. Loving it!

For clients that struggle with thinning lashes from age or a medical condition, these serums are a great complement to the lash extension industry.

Lash Extension Studios – The Emerging Trend

The hottest Hollywood beauty procedure may not be something requiring a visit to the surgeon’s office after all. Celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Beyonce, Lindsay Lohan and Gwen Stefani are all fans of the amazing and painless procedure of Luxury Eyelash Extensions. The Eyelash Extension industry has expanded its way from the Hollywood hills to mainstream America in recent years. In fact, the look is so popular that lash addicted women around the globe, from L.A. to Bombay are helping the trend spread as fast as a tabloid rumor.

The growing demand for Eyelash Extensions has increased the need for qualified and trained Eyelash Extension Stylists; therefore, paving the way for studios dedicated to the art to emerge. The days of lash addicts limited to only hair salons and day spas offering the service are history. Now that Eyelash Extensions have proven they are here to stay and poised for growth, lash studios are quickly popping up in cities across the country.

Many of these exclusive studios are making quite a name for themselves within the industry while setting a high standard of unprecedented client service and application expertise. Among the list of wildly successful locations, few are commanding the swirl of media attention like Utah’s top-rated, celebrity caliber studio Got Lashes. Got Lashes boasts two locations, recently expanding because of the increased demands from clients. In Chicago, Flutter Lash Studio is a top choice in “The Second City”, consistently garnering praise and press after its official grand opening. The Lash Co. in Houston as well as Makeup Mandy Eyelash Bar in L.A. are favorites among local media and generate a steady influx of beauty buzz and press coverage.

The elite industry standard they maintain ensures longevity and future growth. Now that the lash craze has established itself as a mainstream beauty necessity, the emerging trend of lash studios will ultimately always be in fashion – as a retail staple.
